Abstract

Literature class is an example of the use of faceted concepts by Dewey Decimal Classification. There have been many changes in literature class in different editions of DDC and 23rd edition is not an exception. In 2011, this 23rd edition is published and while experimenting with this edition, some experiences related to its serious limitations which are still existed are gathered. A few of them are presented in this article to share with fellow professionals. This article also indicates that a new classification system, as
developed establishing the symbiotic relation among DDC and CC, would work in much better way.
